Games2Greece Inc. is a Delaware-registered 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit dedicated to establishing Greece as the permanent organizational, physical, and spiritual home of the Summer Olympic Games — and to advancing Olympic values through research, education, and civic engagement.
The organization was established by a US citizen based in Athens, Greece, bringing a firsthand, long-term perspective on the relationship between Greece, the Olympic Games, and their shared history. Games2Greece operates independently, is nonpartisan, and is not affiliated with any government, national Olympic committee, or the International Olympic Committee.
Our Mission
The Summer Olympic Games belong in Greece — not as a matter of sentiment, but as a matter of history, logic, and institutional common sense. The ancient Olympics ran at Olympia for over 1,200 years. The modern Games were revived in Athens. The Olympic flame is still lit at Olympia before every modern Games. Yet the Summer Olympics rotate from city to city every four years, leaving behind debt, displacement, and abandoned infrastructure.
Games2Greece exists to make the case — in public, in policy circles, and in classrooms — that the Olympic Games need a permanent organizational home, and that home is Greece. The organization advances this mission through three interconnected programs.
